As soon as I got to know about the Innovators' Folk High School project, I felt it would be an exciting adventure requiring courage and determination. I didn’t know what to expect, but it turned out to be a wonderful experience with curious and inspiring participants who were eager to share their stories. I also met amazing mentors — their eyes full of light — ready to share knowledge, innovations, and possible solutions. The program was designed in such a way that it even led us to Denmark. There, we felt the centuries-old contribution of the "hojskole" to the everyday life of the community.
The experiences, connections, and living with different people opened completely new perspectives, created new friends and opportunities in my life. I am very grateful for the chance to experience this unforgettable adventure, which is still ongoing and seems like it will never end!

Now THAT was an experience! I never thought I’d one day be brave enough to drop everything and go live in a monastery for nearly half a year, just because of an idea! Was it worth it? Yes, and absolutely!
It was an adventure filled with travel, sleeping in unexpected places, organising events, facing daily challenges, surviving dramas, learning about the world, doing stand-up shows, and even hauling firewood — all while building deep connections with amazing people.
My heart is full of joy knowing that this project gave me not only new skills and experiences but also someone I can grow and create with going forward!

Innovators’ Folk High School – a life-changing experience that gave me strength, inspiration, and motivation to transform my own life. "Don’t have a hundred coins, have a hundred friends."
It was the people – the new connections I made at Innovators’ Folk High School – who opened new paths for me and broadened my horizons, helping me to think bigger and act without hesitation. Originally from Vilnius, I now live in Visaginas, where I work in the fields of education, culture, entertainment, and leisure. By the way, I met my future director at a conference where I was presenting together with other members of the School.
Taking part in the program exceeded all my expectations and goals. My loved ones say I’ve become a new person.

Living for 10 weeks with people I had never met before now feels like a mission accomplished. Cooking buckwheat over a campfire, a surprise night hike to a local spring, or organising an event with 80 volunteers in Denmark in just 3 days? These are just a few unforgettable memories that still make me smile and feel alive.
I feel that this school opened another door in my heart — a door to deeper humanity. And here, in Antalieptė, I found a second family.
